Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me..."
Children are so much more than the future of the church: they're the church now. We have a firm responsibility to do everything we can to train, reach, disciple, minister, and lead the children God has placed in our church. With this responsibility, we make every effort we can each time children are at Tom's Creek to provide opportunities for them to grow, serve, and encounter God in a special way. Here are some of these opportunities:
The Children’s Church hour here at Tom’s Creek Baptist Church is an exciting worship experience for children. We use puppets, music, and Bible studies to plant the Word of God in the hearts of children and lead them to Christ. We meet during the morning worship at 10:30 a.m. Sunday morning. We have two different ministry age groups for Children’s Church: Toddle Time (pre-k/K) and Children's Church (1st -4th grade). Each one is set up with a structure that is conducive to fun, learning, and worship.
We have a completely age-graded and gender separated Sunday school for our children so that the children can grow in knowledge and application of God’s Word. Classes begin at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday morning.
Royal Ambassadors and Girls in Action
The Royal Ambassadors (RA's) and Girls in Action (GA's) are our children's ministry groups that meet on Wednesdays at 7:00 p.m. Both focus on learning and practically applying God's Word in order to develop a missionary perspective and lifestyle.
At 6:00 p.m. on Sundays, we have Discipleship Training, where our children participate in Bible Drills. The Bible Drills program encourages children to memorize Scripture, learn their books of the Bible, and establish healthy rhythms of reading God's Word. We believe every child should have at least a foundational understanding of God's Word, and through Bible Drills, our students are equipped to lead a life that is saturated in Scripture. Each year, students have the opportunity to participate in Bible Drills on a church, associational, and state level, where they demonstrate their abilities to recall and locate Scriptures.
