Children's Ministry

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me..."

Matthew 19:14

Children are so much more than the future of the church: they're the church now. We have a firm responsibility to do everything we can to train, reach, disciple, minister, and lead the children God has placed in our church.  With this responsibility, we make every effort we can each time children are at Tom's Creek to provide opportunities for them to grow, serve, and encounter God in a special way. Here are some of these opportunities:

Children’s Church

The Children’s Church hour here at Tom’s Creek Baptist Church is an exciting experience for children. We use Answers Bible Curriculum.  Answers Bible Curriculum takes students of all ages on an exciting chronological journey through the Bible with a focus on apologetics and life application! All ages are equipped to defend their faith, becoming conformed to the image of Christ, as they learn to apply God’s Word in their everyday lives. We meet during the morning worship at 10:30 a.m. Sunday morning. We have two different ministry age groups for Children’s Church: Toddle Time (pre-k/K) and Children's Church (1st -4th grade). Each one is set up with a structure that is conducive to fun, learning, and worship.

Sunday School

We have a completely age-graded and gender separated Sunday school for our children so that the children can grow in knowledge and application of God’s Word. Classes begin at 9:30 a.m. each Sunday morning.

AWANA Clubs

Starting at 7:00pm on Wednesday,  we  have AWANA clubs,  where our  club members  learn how to become resilient disciples. AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed and is taken from 2 Timothy 2:15, “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.” The key focus of AWANA ministry is Scripture memorization, understanding and application. Our AWANA clubs are Cubbies( Ages 3 & 4), Sparks (Grades K - 2nd), and T&T (Grades 3rd - 6th).

Discipleship Training (temporarily unavailable)

At 6:00 p.m. on Sundays, we have Discipleship Training, where our children participate in Bible Drills. The Bible Drills program encourages children to memorize Scripture, learn their books of the Bible, and establish healthy rhythms of reading God's Word. We believe every child should have at least a foundational understanding of God's Word, and through Bible Drills, our students are equipped to lead a life that is saturated in Scripture. Each year, students have the opportunity to participate in Bible Drills on a church, associational, and state level, where they demonstrate their abilities to recall and locate Scriptures.
