Christmas is just around the corner and will be here before we know it. As you make preparations, go to Christmas dinners, work on getting everything checked off your shopping list and, of course, prepare to spend some quality time with your family, don’t forget the origin of Christmas. Christmas is because of Christ. Due to God’s amazing love for us, He gave us the greatest gift imaginable. He gave His only begotten Son! Jesus is the gift that I did not deserve, the gift that makes all good and perfect gifts possible. Please be reminded this Christmas that if you had everything this world had to offer and didn’t have a personal relationship with God through Christ, your life would be a disastrous failure. I barely remember any of the material things I have received down through the years at Christmas. To be honest with you, most of them have now been worn out, lost, or laid up and never used. But the gift that God gave and that I received many years ago, has greatly impacted my life and my family. All my help, my hope and the promise of an eternal home are because God gave, I received, and the Lord has blessed. I hope you have accepted the gift that Christmas is all about, and that this year you celebrate Christ more than you do the seasonal traditions of Christmas. If you don’t get everything you want this Christmas, remember that you have already been given everything you need in Christ Jesus. Merry Christmas.
