Pastor's article 03-09-25

This world is in a real mess. There are so many things wrong worldwide that it seems almost impossible to believe that we could continue with the hope of a good future. Violence is rampant, fraud is widespread. It seems that the only thing we are getting better at is our ability to sin. All the difficulties point to the fact that we need a world leader that can find solutions to the complications that are so evident. The problem is that the world wants a leader that will fix the problems without taking away the reasons for them, which is gross immorality and ungodly living. In other words, we want something done about the deaths by overdoses of drugs while at the same time making illegal drug use easier by providing free syringes and lessening penalties for selling illegal drugs. We want an end to violence and, at the same time, we demean the sanctity of human life. What the world wants is to live in sin without the cost of sin; to live in a messed-up way, but not in a messed-up world. We want to overeat and not be fat, to live a life of sexual perversion and not have a perverted world. So, we search for a leader that can fix what we are bent on messing up, a person for which we can blame all the consequences of our wrong. The world is begging, and the Devil shall provide. He is referred to as the Antichrist and when he comes, he will tell you what you want to hear, and give you what you want - if you worship him and deny Christ. Of course this comes at a high price: your eternal soul! We will look at the characteristics of this world leader in our study, but understand that the world stage has been set, and people are eager to follow him even as I write this. The unsaved are going to follow him all the way to Hell. I hope you are determined to follow Christ and to live a life that brings honor to God.
