Peter denies Jesus three times. His third time, the scripture says that he cursed and denied Jesus.
In the moment when Peter was trying to prove that he wasn’t with Jesus, he cursed. He knew that by cursing, people would see him as someone who was not with Christ or of Christ.
He knew that cursing was something that separated him from his identity in Christ.
Cursing is something that distinguishes believers from the rest of the world. As Christians we must watch our language and be careful as to the things we say and joke about.
We find our identity in Christ so we should make sure that the world around us also identifies us with Christ.
