Pastor Article 03-16-25

“I love you.” These are some of the sweetest words one can hear.  These words have a way of diffusing anger, giving assurance, and evoking lasting bonds. I think everyone yearns to know that they are loved. We expect certain people in our lives to love us, like our parents, our grandparents, our children and our spouses. Today I want you to know that God loves you. That is not just a saying of empty rhetoric; God has plainly said that He loves you. Not only did He say it, but He also proved it by giving His only begotten Son over to the most horrific substitutional death on the cross that has ever been witnessed.  Grasp this truth today: the God of Heaven, the only true and living God, the creator of everything that is, chose to love you and me and, because of this choice, sacrificed His only begotten Son to die for our sins so that we could live in His Heaven forever and ever. The perfect creator God, who knew no sin, died as a sinner so we, the worst of sinners, could live a perfect life of holiness in the glories of Heaven. Friend, you may not know how you are going to get through today, or how you’re going to handle the troubles of tomorrow, but you can rest assured today knowing that the God who holds all the tomorrows in His almighty hand has committed His love toward you. God loves you just like you are, but too much to leave you that way. I pray you will find rest and security in knowing that you are treasured by our heavenly Father and the knowledge of His love means His care over you. It feels great being loved by God. Enjoy this precious promise.
