Pastor's Article 09-14-25

Tom’s Creek Baptist Church has been greatly blessed by the Lord since it was birthed in 1913. There have been some struggles, trials, ups and downs, but through it all, God has been faithful to bless with faithful leadership and committed hard-working servants. The mission has been to win the lost and disciple the saved into being soul winners and disciple makers. The church is geographically right where God wants it to be; spiritually, there is always room for growth; and evangelistically, there is much to do. Stephens and Franklin Counties both are home to some great people but many of them are living their lives without Christ as their Savior, and others who have been saved but are living without Christ as the Lord of their lives. As you look at the state and nation, our effort is to raise up pastors, music directors, youth pastors and committed Christians to send out and make a difference where God plants them. From the time I started as pastor in 1998 until now as I write this, I can think of seven men and their wives who have been called from Tom’s Creek and are now serving as ministerial leaders in churches. I pray there will be many more, and that we can continue to be used of God in the equipping of saints, and the sending of God-honoring servants into different fields of service. No doubt there have been many more over the 112-year life of this church and, if the Lord tarries His coming, may this be an ongoing effort and goal that we as a church purposely pursue. I hope we never measure our success by how many people we run in attendance, but rather how many people we send out. Our mission is not raising money, building buildings, or entertaining people, but winning souls, making disciples, and sending laborers into the ripe fields for the harvest. Please join us in praying, working and equipping so that many may come to know the amazing life that is in Christ our Lord.
Pastor,
Rev. Wayne Marcus
