~ Pastor’s Weekly Article ~
Have you ever done something that makes you wonder if God could or would forgive you? Satan would love for a person to think that what they have done is so bad that there is no way that they could be saved. Our minds or, as some would say, our hearts often tell us that we have messed up so bad that there is no hope in us being set free from the guilt of our past. The real question is do you understand that if your past is not forgiven then you are still in your sin and the hope and promises of God are of no effect.
Look at the Word of God with me for a moment. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. John 3:17
The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
2 Peter 3:9
Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. Hebrews 7:25
As you look at these verses you know that God came to save, wants to save and can save. The only question left is, are you willing to be, die out to self and be born again? There is no sin that God will not save us from if we desire and are willing to accept Him. The man who perishes is the one that refuses to turn from sin and to Christ for everlasting life.
