Some people think that if you are smart, highly educated and successful, you don’t have to lean on religion. Jesse Ventura said, “In my view, religion is only for weak people who can't stand on their own two feet.” The Word of God and life teach us that wise men are people who are smart enough to know that we are all weak and fragile when we come into this world, and many times, before we leave it, we must learn that we are stronger when we bow than we are when we stand against Almighty God. It takes a foolish person to think that that he is not weak, not vulnerable, and not dependent on the Creator and Sustainer of all things. Obviously, I am not talking about religion in its corrupted form and sense, but in a relationship with the God of Heaven through Jesus Christ our Lord.
In Matthew 2 we read about wise men searching for Christ and making a long journey to worship Him. They were made famous because their search for Christ was recorded in the all-time bestselling book called the Bible which has been read over and over for thousands of years. The truth is they were just a few of the wise men that have searched for Christ and bowed down in submission to worship the God who loves us so much that He came to us when we could not get to Him. Don’t ever think that being weak enough to bow is a bad thing; as the Scripture says, we are strong when we are weak (2 Corinthians 12:10). Our real strength is not in ourselves but in surrendering to Almighty God and being used as a vessel of worship to Him. Remember, wise men still search for Christ.
