Do you make plans to do things? Sure you do, as a matter of a fact every time you do something it starts with some type of a plan. You may not plan extensively like other people do, but there is still some type of planning that goes into everything you do. If you didn’t plan you wouldn’t get anything done. Planning is essential to accomplishment. As you start this New Year, I hope you have made plans to be better, better in every aspect of your life. The truth is we are never better by accident, to be better you must work at it and every job requires some type of strategy. I would like to encourage you to examine areas of your life that you want to be better and then look to see what this looks like.
Start by looking at where you are, where you want to be and what would have to happen to get there. Then break that down into little steps and get started, working toward that goal. Big change always comes by making a series of little changes. For instance, if you said, I want to write a book, you would have to start by writing a word, then a sentence, then a paragraph and then a chapter before long you would have several chapters that you could put together to have a book. Someone once told me that they never made New Year resolutions or set goals because they never finish them. To which I thought the best way to fail at finishing is to fail at starting. Please don’t let the fear of failure cause you to fail at starting in the quest to be a better version of yourself. I hope to always be striving to be better than I am today, that I might be able to prove what “is the perfect and acceptable will of the Lord”.
