Associate Pastor article 11-10-24

When you think of excitement, what comes to mind? Is it hollering, shouting, singing, smiling, or praising? When was the last time that you were excited to the point of letting your emotion flood your mind in overwhelming joy? Maybe at a wedding, or at the buying of a new car, or the recent Presidential election. These times can be wonderful for the heart and your overall wellbeing. I remember when Kylie and I found out she was pregnant. It was the day I was to graduate from Liberty University. Early that morning, Kylie took the test and our world was set for major changes. I had often thought about what my reaction would be like when I found out I was going to be a dad. I thought I might hit my knees in praise or pick Kylie up and twirl her around with excitement. But when the moment truly came, I was so caught off guard that the only thing I could do was say the shortest silent prayer and hug Kylie. We were flooded with emotions, but the strongest one was that of praise and worship for the answered prayer that had been given to us.
As we go through Chapter 5 of Revelation, we see the greatest worship service that will ever be. No doubt, there will be a flood of emotion and excitement which has never been seen before. The Lamb of God is found worthy to open the scroll because of the ultimate sacrifice that He made for the people of the world. There is no creature who will not praise the mighty Lamb with their voices. We are told, “I heard every creature in heaven, on earth, under the earth, on the sea, and everything in them say, Blessing and honor and glory and power be to the One seated on the throne, and to the Lamb, forever and ever!” (Revelation 5:13) On that day, you and I will have the ultimate reason to be excited. Our worship of Him today, while true and deserving, is nothing compared to the glorious worship that’s ahead.
