Pastor's Article, Dec. 29, 2024

As we look forward to the new year, we do so with the anticipation of the Lord returning to take us out of this wicked world. As has been said so many times, we have no idea when the Lord is coming but we are to live every day as if it could be our last. So, what does that look like for you? Is there anything that needs to be changed in your life as you prepare to stand face to face with the Lord? The Bible teaches us that we are to be faithful, and that covers every area of our life: we ought to be faithful to church, faithful in our giving, faithful in our witnessing, a faithful spouse and, of course, a faithful worshiper. We are confident that God will and does do all that He promises us in His Word; we have this confidence because our God is faithful. I love the fact that God is faithful. I also love the fact that my wife is faithful. It would be hard to be married to a person who was not faithful. My point is that if I appreciate faithfulness, I ought also to understand the importance of striving to be faithful in all things in my life. The Bible says that Jesus asked the question, “when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” Luke 18:8. Faithful is what people who live by faith are. Our faith ought to drive us to be
so dependable that people around us can count on what we are going to do in every given situation. Live out your faith every single day as you walk with Jesus, and you will be ready to face the Lord when He comes.
