Do you ever struggle with false expectations that are placed on you? There are people in all our lives that expect way more out of us than we can attain too. People who make decisions with devastating consequences and then want us to either fix their problems or give them an answer that will instantly erase all the devastation, hurt and pain which came because of their past actions our present lifestyle. There are others that expect you to bless their life in ways that are far beyond your ability and pay scale. The truth is that we are very limited in what we can do through our power to bless another. Yet, there are at least two avenues for us to achieve blessing in our life.
The first way is to live our life according to the will and plan of God. God will bless us when we live our life with the purpose of blessing God and bringing honor to His name. If you are not living in accordance with God’s Word don’t expect blessing but rather chastisement and destruction. If you are out of the will of God, remember that life doesn’t have a remote control or an easy button, you must get up and change the way you are living, and you are the only one who can make that change.
The second way is to think bigger and ask greater. I want to leave you with this verse that reminds us of the ability of God. “Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,”. God is able and His power is working in us as the Children of God, so ask for great things in prayer, and think or dream God size dreams. Live your life in such a way that all who look at it will know that only God could do what is done in and through your life. To God be the glory.
