What makes a person a child of God? Most people in the south consider themselves to be a child of God, and yet they have never heard from the heavenly Father. The scary thing is if ask about their faith they would quickly tell you that they are Christian and might even be able to tell you what church they have attended at some point in their life. They think they are a child of God because their parents or grandparents were, and they were raised in a Christian home. I want to remind you that God does not have grandchildren. The only way to be a child of God is to be born into the family of God.
Has there been a time in your life when you realized that you were a sinner and that your sin has separated you from God? This is the first step in becoming a child of God. You must admit that you are a sinner and that the only way you can get to heaven or have a relationship with God the Father is to turn from your sin, call on God accepting the Death of His Son Jesus as the payment for your sin and His Resurrection for the power you need over death, hell, and the grave. The Bible tells us that we must believe of His death, burial and bodily resurrection and call on Him as Savior. If you do this, you will be saved! You call on Him by praying and you believe His promise by faith. This is the way you are born again and become a true Child of God. So, are you a child of God?  If not, I hope you will accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior so you too can be a part of the family of God.
