One of the greatest privileges of my life is being the Pastor of Tom’s Creek Baptist Church. I was blown away last week with when you honored me for my 30-Year Anniversary of Pastoral Ministry. Serving as a pastor over the last 30 years has been a great challenge in which I have shed many tears, had lots of sleepless nights and some very sad and hard days. Those seem to be the days that I remember the most and yet last week you were able to help me remember that there have been many more good days and a plethora of opportunities alone the way to pour into the lives people. The Devil wants us to focus on the tough times but by far the good times out weight the bad, and I am blessed beyond measure to have been able to meet so many wonderful people alone the road of my ministry journey. As I look back over my last 30 years, I don’t think of the material things I had but rather the people that God allowed Tammy and I to minister to and those who ministered to us along the way.
Many of my mentors have gone on to be with the Lord and oh how I would have loved to have had them here last week, I was reminded of how wonderful heaven is going to be someday. One day we will get to our heavenly home and see how God used so many people to spur us alone the way as we walked together with the Lord. Over the years I have sat in hundreds of meetings planning, praying and discerning the will of God for all kinds of decisions concerning the Church of Jesus Christ. I want you to know that I have a godly group of men to work with and I consider each and every one of them as true heroes in the faith. The deacons of Tom’s Creek have been nothing less than amazing over these past two years walking through this mess called COVID-19. I love Tom’s Creek Baptist Church and am so blessed to be able to work with the leadership here, I thank God daily for allowing me to serve as your Pastor. Thank you for the way you honored me and my amazing wife last week. Pastor, Rev. Wayne Marcus
