Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face; That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly. Mt 6:(16–18).
And Cornelius said, Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour I prayed in my house, and, behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing, Acts (10:30).
And when they had ordained them elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed. Acts 14:23
In weariness and painfulness, in watchings often, in hunger and thirst, in fastings often, in cold and nakedness. 2 Co. 11:27
All of these verses are from the New Testament and have to do with Christians fasting, which proves that as New Testament Christians we ought to be fasting and praying. So, the question is, are you fasting and praying as you ought to be and if not why? I think it is partly my fault, as I was reading a couple of weeks ago the Lord spoke to me out of the book of Joel through these verses. “Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, Gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land Into the house of the LORD your God, And cry unto the LORD,” Joel 1:14
Maybe we have not been fasting and praying as we ought because I have not called a solemn assembly to do so. Therefore, I want to ask you to join me and fasting and praying, I would like to challenge to start a fast after you eat lunch today, until 4:00 pm on Monday. During that time pray for Judgement House and those who will be working and coming through. We need to see a movement of God and as we fast and pray ask God to move in a mighty way as the Gospel is presented to those who come to Judgement House. Rev. Wayne Marcus
