Pastor's Article, Aug. 29, 2021

This is an exciting time for us at Tom’s Creek as we sit on the precipice of a new church year. Next Sunday we will have some new teachers starting, a new Sunday School Class launching, and we also have some new deacons getting their ministry underway. Morgan Walker is starting as the new Children’s Ministry Director, and we have a lot of people starting on different committees for their first time. I am thankful that we have people who are willing to serve, and I am confident as they learn their new ministry roles, they will learn a lot and grow in their faith. I want to remind you that it is very important that we are always enlisting, equipping and encouraging people to serve the Lord. Every one of us will find a time when we are not able to serve in the capacity that we are now, and when that time comes someone needs to be prepared and in place to take up the ministry and carry on.
The work that God called us to is not about us, but about the Him and when we are gone the ministry needs and must continue to move forward. Therefore, I want to remind you of the importance of discipling the next generation. Pray for each other and provoke one another to good works.
Remembering that the work God has called us to do is an important work, but it is work none the less and work requires workers. Be intentional when it comes to encouraging others and do your best to instruct, help and equip those around you to take up the task of serving the Lord by serving others. Please be praying daily for God wisdom and blessings on Tom’s Creek as we work to reach our community and world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.     Pastor, Rev. Wayne Marcus
