When you were a child and growing up what did you want in life? If you were like me and most kids, it depended on what age you were. There was a time when all I wanted was a cap gun, and then as I got older a bicycle, then a motorcycle, then a car and before long a girlfriend and as time went on my list of wants continued to change. As you think about this, I hope you understand and believe me when I tell you that there will be a time when there is nothing in this world that you want. That is right, there will be a time when you will look at this world and the things in it with distaste in your mouth. There are people reading this that would literally trade their eternal soul for things in the world right now but there will come a day when it seems as ridiculous as a grown man trading his house for a bicycle that he can’t even ride.
As you mature and grow older, and your body begins to decay and dissipate you will realize that you are an eternal soul in a temporal body in a passing world. Which means your soul will live for eternity in a place and a way in which the things of this world will seem as foolish as they really are. In eternity you will not crave the things that now have such a powerful allure to your life. That is the reason Jesus said; what shall a man profit if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul. Today if I offered you a million dollars to take your own life with the condition that you could only have it as long as you were alive; you would realize how foolish it is to give up your soul for a world that is passed as soon as you die. Friend eternal life is worth everything you have, want, or could ever dream of having in this world. Give your life to Jesus before you lose it. Rev. Wayne Marcus
