What is communication? It’s A process by which information is exchanged between individuals through a common system of symbols and signs. Communication also is an exchange of information. I think it would be safe to say, that communication is necessary for a relationship. Therefore, to have a relationship with God there must be a means of communication, a way for God to clearly speak to us and a way for us to clearly speak to God. It is commonly known that we speak to God through prayer. So how does God speak to us? Through the eons of time God has spoken to people in many ways, the earliest known to us is found in the book of Genesis where God spoke to Adam and then Eve as He walked with them in garden in what must have been a theophany since God is invisible, He had to take on a bodily form. There are several times when God did this throughout the Old Testament. He also spoke to people through Angels which is also a name for messengers. There were even times when God used animals to speak to people, but the most common way in the Old Testament was through Prophets. Men of old moved by the spirit of God to reveal what God wanted people to hear from Him. In these last days God has spoken to us through His Son; Jesus is the Word of God, the expression of God to us. If someone tells you that God spoke to them, and they cannot back it up with the Word of God take heed and get away from this false prophet. It is a very dangerous to listen to a man who speaks a so-called word from God that is not found in the Word of God. There have been many would be messengers from God who have delivered extra Biblical revelation that in truth are nothing more than deceiver trying to highjack the authority of God to manipulate and propagate a following. We have the complete Word of God and need no new revelation from God. Beware lest any man deceive you with another gospel. Check any Word of God by the written Word of God so that you can discern the spirits that would seek to communicate with you and give you direction in life. Rev. Wayne Marcus
